WHY IS YOUR BIRTH PLAN SO IMPORTANT?

Writing your birth plan gives you the opportunity to find out what is most important to you regarding your baby’s birth, and this will be totally different for all expectant parents.

It is not a check list of things that must happen, nor is it exactly how your baby’s birth will be. It is merely all of your wishes written down for your medical team so they can help you achieve your desires as best as they can.

We go into great detail about how to write your birth plan in class 3 of TWHBP, as it is so important to understand what is most important to you. There are many factors to think about that may well have not crossed your mind before. Have you heard of the Vitamin K injection before, for example?
